My name is Paulina Nowaczyk and I would like to invite you into my lampshades world. Are you in?
But first, let me to tell you our story.
I’m one of the owners of KARKAS S.C. We produce lampshades in Poland. Our history began in 1980, when my grandmother decided to quit her full-time job and create something new. At that time, Poland was under a communist system, and running a private business was very difficult and challenging. Still, she took her chance. Our very first client came from Sweden, and since then we have been producing hand-sewn lampshades for them. The first model was a candle lampshade, which you can now find as the Rejmyre in our LampShade Design collection.
After a while, her sons- my dad and my uncle -joined the company. Whether I wanted to or not, I grew up surrounded by fabrics and lampshades 🙂 The first colours I learned as a child weren’t black or white, but 143;). After graduating at finance and bookkeeping at WSB Schools of Banking, I decided to become part of the company as well.
Today, you can find our products all over the world. We have happy customers in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Australia. We cooperate with wholesalers, retail shops, hotels, and othe public institutions.
I studied finance, I work in the lampshade business and my hobby is interior design. Maybe in my next life I’ll be an interior designer- who knows;). Anyway, this passion makes me follow all the trends on the market. That’s why, in 2019, we created LampShade Design collection: a carefully sellected assortment in trendy colours and fabrics.
